Chocolate Poetry Club

social media graphics, photography, event support

Chocolate Poetry Club was a monthly, and later bi-monthly, open-mic poetry event held in Camden and Clapham. It hosted both already established and emerging artists and became a platform for voices across the London spoken-word scene. The club was home to artists such as Miss Yankey — British-Ghanaian spoken-word artist, writer and activist, Yasmin Ali (Y.A) — award-winning British Bangladeshi poet and writer, Gboyega Odubanjo — British-Nigerian poet and author of While I Yet Live and Adam, Steve Tasane — multi-slam winner and novelist (Child I), and Shaun Rivers — British Mauritian actor and performance poet (Twisted and Chewed).

My role focused on marketing and audience management. I was responsible for creating promotional graphics for social media and the website, producing photography, managing and growing the email list and supporting event delivery. My work helped maintain the visual identity across the digital channels, increase event visibility, and improve audience turnout.
